đ For work I've recently been asked to take a dip into the đ"special skills"đ section of my resume (literally as well as figuratively (*groan*), pun intended). It's the first time in my life I've ever had a chance to use my swimming expertise for an acting gig, and, though it's not all Tom Hanks and Daryl Hannah and Splash, or even Esther Williams for that matter, it did put me back in the pool to get my butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle crawl back in the shape they were way back when I was winning long-distance individual medley medals. Well, now all of a sudden I'm finding pools, ocean, water images, pool references, swim metaphors, everywhere I turn (no sooner did I think the swimming synchronicities (nudge nudge, wink wink, know what I mean, know what I mean, embedded Esther Williams pun intended *groan again*) were exhausted than I was asked to do a reading of a wonderful new play by Melissa Ross for Manhattan Theatre Club, entitled ... drumroll please ... The Shallow End. Yup. My character happened to have a POOL out back. Hm. And then this morning I found a pic mom took of me at one year of age stomping through puddles. Seems I took early to the H2O!) So today I am diving in and falling back on Fallback Friday, way back, to my racing days. #fbf
